Hi All,
During my previous discussion about the copyright of the wedding album
at alt.photography, at least one respondent compared wedding albums
with that of publi****ng books. It is such a bad analogy that I took
the effort to list out my reasons as to why the comparison is
meritless.

During one of his speeches, Richard M Stallman pointed out that
copyright was initially intended as an industrial regulation. And it
would be such a good idea to keep it like that. For example, not
differentiating between photographs taken for commercial purposes (eg.
advertising) and photographs taken for personal use (eg. wedding
album) is a serious flaw in the copyright laws.
Remember that in the case of commercial photographs involving models,
the models get paid for their effort of wearing (sometimes outrageous)
costumes and posing.
Your thoughts on this will be much appreciated.
Rgds,
