Hi All.
Please keep the discussion in the group itself. I prefer not to
receive personal e-mails. Also this discussion is more about
copyright law (in India) rather than the contract law. For the
purpose of this post, there are no contracts involved.
I found that in the Indian Copyright Act 1957, in the case of videos
the law recognizes the producer as the author. The producer is
defined as someone "who takes the initiative and responsibility for
making the work". This clearly acknowledges that the person operating
the equipment need not be considered as the author. But in the case
of the photograph, the law does not recognize the role of the
producer.

In this context, is it unreasonable to argue that the producer of the
wedding videos are the bridge/groom and their families? They clearly
are the ones responsible for making it happen.
