"Open Design" attachment of license to derivative works.

by "shrike@[EMAIL PROTECTED] " <shrike@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > May 27, 2008 at 11:01 AM

Howdy,

I have seen working on a CAD project related to biofuels. There may be
some "new art" in the project, or there may not be. I plan on
publi****ng the all of the CAD and all the g-code used for machining
the prototype in the public domain. I would like to attach a GNU
license to the design to require derived works to also publi****ng
their design work in the public domain.

Is this possible given the current IP legal framework, and are there
any precedents?

Thanks in advance!
Matt
