ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
There are few, if at all any, parallels to the universality of the law
of demand and supply. While on one hand, driven by cost arbitrage and
reliable performance delivery mechanism, the LPO sector has witnessed
a stupendous growth in the recent past creating a huge demand for
services in the International markets and at the same time, fuelling a
huge demand for trained/equipped work force in the domestic market.
To sustain the present growth rate and to take the Indian LPO industry
to the next level, professionals, with attributes as mentioned below,
are the need of the hour:

* Having exposure with foreign laws
* With foreign qualifications in legal stream

While LPOs require a workforce with good grounding in the common law
system and simultaneously a willingness to work in a diverse work
environment, at the same time, owing to the dynamic nature of the
industry, an institutionalized training regime and mechanism is also
imperative.
While the market for LPOs has increased by leaps and bounds, the
supply for trained workforce has not kept pace, leading to a major
demand-supply mismatch. On one hand, finding experienced people is an
uphill task in itself and on the other - in-house training costs are
skyrocketing. Screening, security-checks, interviews and induction
process takes lot of time resulting in costs enhancements. Executive
search is next to impossible. Attrition would soon come into picture.
