First, you need to realize that what you're calling "true management
consultants" are called entrepreneur consultants or start-up
consultants. The vast majority of "management" consultants have
nothing to do with start-ups but advice managers of already-
established cor****ations on how to manage better.
So your question should probably be worded "Do entrepreneurs and start-
up consultants potentially have a lot in common?" The answer to that
question is "yes". Entrepreneur consultants specialize in
entrepreneurs so many of them have been entrepreneurs themselves.
Because they specialize, they understand the problems and
op****tunities that entrepreneurs are facing. If they are independent
consultants, they were entrepreneurs themselves when starting up their
consultancies.
