Of course, it depends: very much, on the person, and what the business
is to be. Can you tell us more? Some industries that require respectable
solidity and track record may be put off by a start-up that has an
inexperienced person in a senior position, but that still leaves plenty
available.
It can be usefully educational to make sure that one has access to
experience as an industry insider before trying to launch a venture in
that industry. However, if one can afford to fail, it can also be
usefully educational to try to launch a start-up and fail miserably!
