Howdy,
Well I've got a prototype. It works, scales well, and has a fairly
broad market appeal/application. Took some business cl***** as the
local college, read the applicable tax code, filed the cor****ate
paperwork got an EIN etc. Built simulated financials in a spread
sheet, tested them, and now, I need to sell some stock to pay for
phase 1.
While I have many years in software development, I never saw fit to
finish a college degree, and frankly I have no interest in doing so
now. What you can't build, you negotiate for, and in this case what I
need is a fascist MBA from a top 5 school to make underwriters feel
warm and fuzzy.
My questions are:
Where to get him/her?
How to bring him/her aboard?
What is an appropriate equity stake to trade for the person getting
round 1 financing?
What personality traits should I look for?
This will be my first time going through this, and to be frank I would
prefer the assigned party be of less experience and more balls, than
vice-versa. While I want them to be technically competent at
understanding finance and management, the person remaining on my team
will be more likely if we can develop some interdependencies. So young
and brash is better than old and crooked. (I would say "old and wise",
but experience suggests the former is probably more statistically
accurate :-)
Thanks in advance!
Matt
