Hi,
a friend of mine has come up with a way to predict the results on uk
soccer games. He has this algorithm that predicts the odds for the
game and then if the bookies have better odds then he knows what to
bet on. Using his system he has weeks when he wins and others where he
loses but he's been consistently up at the end of each season by in
excess of 100%.
Now, you'd think that this was a license to print money but the
problem is that when bookies realise that on average they're loosing
money with him, they stop taking his bets or limit the size of bets he
can make. Luckily new bookies come on line from time to time so the
possibility to gamble hasn't dried up totally. Also we don't have a
great deal of cash so it's not as if we can give several thousands of
pounds to a select few individuals to bet on our behalves.
I've been trying to help him come up with a business model that will
mean that he can sell this info but nothing springs to mind. The
creation of a website to sell the info either on a subscription basis
or through affiliate links to bookies seems like a good idea, but I'm
pretty sure that if they see that he's providing winning info then
they'll use his info to adjust their own odds thus scuppering the
website.
Any thoughts on a business model that would allow us to gain revenue
but not tip off the bookies would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
G.
