I think I have found a new avenue for sales, but I suspect I might
need to set up some contracts to do it. I thought I would run the
scenario past the professionals here for advice. Do you think I
should require a contract, and if so, what should be included in the
contract?
Scenario;
I have found a number of websites that are willing to sell my
product. The product is customized and specially manufactured every
time for every individual customer. They are absolutely not one size
fits all. They are relatively high ticket items ranging from $1,000
to $5,000.
My company will be transparent to the customer as the products they
buy will be drop-****pped with the website's ****pping label, but the
payment goes through the website. It isn't some kind of complex
consignment structure. It is just a simple wholesale, retail setup.
When the customer buys my product, the money will be taken through a
credit card, and the purchase order for the product will be
automatically generated and sent to me in e-mail form. I will produce
the specific product and ****p it to the customer. The website
receives my invoice and the terms will be 15 days from my ****pping
date. This process will be repeated over and over (hopefully.)
Do I need to set up some kind of seller's agreement with the website,
or is it implicit that they will pay for the product because they had
sent the purchase order? What needs to be included in the contract if
one is required?
Thanks for the help.
Steven
