My brother is a finance broker. He gets referals from a chain of 6 real
estate offices. If he can sell a home loan, he pays the referrer $350.
I've started a partner****p with him whereby I send referrals his way,
and he pays me $350 for every successful sale of a home loan.
I'm in no way related to the housing or finance industry.
I've decided to use the following details in advertising: "Looking for a
home loan?", "Give me a call!", full name, mobile phone number, and
"Licensed Finance Consultant". He has a finance broker's license.
I've considered:
1. Newspapers - I've looked in the property section of the newspaper, and
can
only see quarter, half or full page advertisements by the banks offering
home loans. There is no way I can afford this. And all the advertising
seem
generic, nothing sets one apart from the other.
I've also scanned the classifieds, and can't see any private or individual
advertising. Maybe I just don't know where to look. But if such a section
existed, I'd imagine it would be crowded, and once again, nothing would
set
apart one from the other.
2. Internet - No idea how this would work. Maybe create a single web page
with name, number and "Licensed Finance Consultant". Getting people to
see this page is the problem: specifically, targetting people in his city
who
are actively looking for his type of service.
3. Community notice boards - I've made flyers with tear away strips at the
bottom(which
include mobile number and name). The wording is "Looking for a home loan?
Give me a call!
Mobile number. Name. Licensed Finance Consultant". I've stuck 2 flyers on
the community notice
boards outside 2 different supermarkets. These noticeboards are generally
filled
with forsale flyers. Mine are lost in a sea of other flyers.
4. Business cards - My brother has given me 50 of his business cards. I
will give these to
work colleagues and friends. I'm thinking of offering people who can get
someone they
know to call my brother(by giving them his biz card), and if he can make
the sale, I give the
person I gave the biz card to $50. So essentially, I give out biz cards,
and if a
successul sale results, the person who I gave the biz card to will get $50
from me(after my
brother pays me $350).
I don't want to do letter box drops, because this is way too untargetted
and I personally
hate this type of junk advertising.
Can anyone else suggest any other ideas for me to work on? Or give me some
feedback on
the ideas above?
