There used to be a company like this in the Twin Cities, only
a little more broad-based. You could call them an ask them
any question you wanted to, and they would research the answer.
They sold the service as a cor****ate subscription. The value
was that it would make employees more efficient if they could
get the answers that they needed with a single phone call.
I haven't heard of them in years. This was back before the
Internet was opened to commercial users. Today, a tool like
Google can put a real dent into that market.
There was a another company in the Twin Cities where you could
call and ask any question related to living in the twin cities,
such as where to eat, travel directions, events, etc. They
were funded by having ads play on the phone when you call them.
Again, the Internet must have largely replaced that service.
