Double Talk
In the Supreme Court case # 2000-KA-00777-SCT that is further known as
Jones v. State, 798 So.2d 1241 (Miss.2001) the conclusion finds the
trial rife with deficiencies and reverses accordingly and the case is
remanded for a new trial.
The Mandate issued Thursday, 25th day of October, 2001 states that You
Are Commanded, that execution and further proceedings as may be
appropriate forthwith be had consistent with this judgment and the
constitution and laws of the State of Mississippi.
As I was never a convicted felon and I made that known and I requested
a rehearing in the Mississippi Supreme Court immediately upon
receiving the Mississippi Supreme Court ruling and I likewise notified
Thomas Fortner of the Hinds County Public Defenders office that I
wanted a rehearing. In a letter from lawyer Fortner dated November 20,
2001 Fortner writes … Meanwhile I did not file a Petition for
Rehearing in the Supreme Court because it is my policy not to do so
when we win the appeal. We do not want the Supreme Court to be given
any chance to change its mind when we win. …
This goes to show that Fortner and the Hinds County Public
Pretender/Defenders do just as they like and totally disregard what I
want just as they did from the start.
I am now left with the State of Mississippi calling me a convicted
felon while everyone is remanding the issue to file while apparently
still claiming victory. I have been steamrolled and railroaded and the
issues are still not resolved, yet I am apparently still in jeopardy
due to a corrupt so-called justice system. Government certainly made
sure that I served the prison time for the convicted felon with a
firearm charge (3 years in Mississippi) and then some before kicking
me out the back door via the Mississippi Supreme Court and further
burying me in bogus paper work and so-called legal publications that
basically label me as a convicted felon when I am not a convicted
felon. The whole Government case stinks of corruption and abuse along
with the systems method of providing lawyers to the poor that refuse
to defend them properly and aid government in its cover-ups and crimes
against the poor and disadvantaged.
In a letter from the Mississippi Attorney generals office to Senator
Thad Cochran dated April 16, 2004 that I received a copy of the State
of Mississippi states that … In other words, it would appear that Mr.
Jones is still a convicted felon. …
My constitutional rights have been violated to the core as well as
other rights yet the political games go on while we still suffer from
government abuses and corruptions.
