I've had no luck installing ChromeSetup.exe under WinE.
It basically just quits; the last messages it prints out
when running wine .wine/drive_c/tmpstuff/ChromeSetup.exe :
fixme:ole:CoInitializeSecurity ((nil),-1,(nil),(nil),6,2,(nil),64,(nil))
- stub!
fixme:winhttp:WinHttpOpen ((null), 1, (null), (null), 0x0): stub
Presumably it's looking for IE6, which I should have
installed in a subdirectory (thanks to IES4Linux).
Using that subdirectory for IE6 I get
$ WINEPREFIX="/home/ewill/.wine/ie6" wine ./CrhomeSetup.exe
Installation failed. Google Installer requires Windows
2000 Service Pack 4 or better.
(So Linux is *not* better than Win2k? :-P :-) )
I'm not happy.

It has Flash? Well, that's a plus.

No doubt Google Gadgets are embedded. I'll admit I don't know for sure.
