Idea & Information management and scheduling softwares?

by "David" <davidd31415@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Dec 8, 2007 at 11:47 PM

Hi:

What software / techniques do you use for managing information (brain
storming, meetings, action items lists, and similar) ?

Also, what do you use for scheduling purposes?

I've been using MS Project 2000 and notepad for the most part but am
looking
for a more professional approach.

I have been trying out Mindjet's Mind Manager 7 and I think it is an
amazing
product. Does anyone have comments about this or know of competing
software? I first used the "Visual Thesaurus" about two years ago and
have
wished I had the skills to write a program to manage information in a
similar, visual format (memory maps) and Mind Manager seems to do this and

more. I especially like that it can also work in "outline" view which
will
work good with simple to-do lists.

As far as scheduling, MS Project 2000 leaves a lot to be desired and I
have
had to work around several major bugs (not being able to mix different
task
and resource calendars would be my biggest complaint). Although the newer

versions of Project seem to fix a few of these bugs I am considering going

with Primavera or Sciforma for a scheduling app. Again, positive or
negative experiences here?

Thanks,

David
