Well, one thing worth saying more is perhaps that it is a single 
****table unit, rather than a split, permanent one, as mentioned by the OP.

The former will tend to make a lot more noise, as it has both the cold 
air exchange fan and the hot air exchange fan in the room.. It will also 
tend to use a lot more electricity, as it will be a lot less efficient. 
It also requires a 5 inch hole through the wall (or the dreaded hose 
through the window..), rather than a few small holes.
