Evenness of backlight and viewing angles as well as colour reproduction
are 
the things to look for in a good LCD and sadly lacking in cheapo own
brands 
and you may still have to accept duff pixels in some of them. Widescreens 
are ok but beware of low resolutions like 1440x800. Personally I think 19"
@[EMAIL PROTECTED]
 
1280x1024 gives a good pixel size (that res on a 17" is too small). 
Adjustable height is useful too but not essential. Response times don't 
matter unless you're a gamer.

Stick to names like LG and Samsung or even HannsG and BenQ among the
cheaper 
options.

BTW LCDs use a lot less power (as well as desk space) than CRTs so they do

make some long term savings across an organisation.
