Malcolm Wicks, minister for energy said this morning on GMTV that the
government cannot just reduce taxes on fuel as this would mean cutting
services, however, I saw it re****ted in a newspaper that the
government is collecting =A37 million per day above what it had
accounted for with the increase in price of fuel. Also, can he
justify the fact that on fuel, we pay VAT on the tax that they charge.
