THIS SWEEPSTAKES (as defined below) IS INTENDED FOR VIEWING AND
PARTICIPATION BY ELIGIBLE INDIVIDUALS (as defined below) WHO ARE LOCATED
IN
THE 50 UNITED STATES OR DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA ONLY AND SHALL BE GOVEREND
SOLELY BY U.S. LAW. DO NOT PROCEED IN THE SWEEPSTAKES WEBSITE OR ENTER IF
YOU ARE NOT CURRENTLY LOCATED IN THE 50 UNITED STATES OR DISTRICT OF
COLUMBIA.
1.. Open to legal residents of the 50 United States or the District of
Columbia, 18 years of age or the age of majority in the state in which
they
reside (whichever is older) at time of entry. Employees, officers and
directors (and their immediate families, including spouse, children,
parents, siblings; and those living in their same households, whether or
not
related) of The Hewlett-Packard Company ("Sponsor"), and any of its
parent,
subsidiary, and affiliated companies, advertising, promotion, or
production
agencies and web masters/suppliers are not eligible to participate. By
participating, entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules.
2.. Promotional Period: The Ditch Your Dirty Jobs Sweepstakes by HP
("Sweepstakes") begins on or about 12:00:01 a.m. Eastern Time ("ET") on
May 23, 2008 and ends at 11:59:59 p.m. ET on July 31, 2008 ("Promotional
Period"). All entries must be received and recorded by the Sponsor's
computer during the Promotional Period. Sponsor's computer is the official
time keeping device for the Sweepstakes. Proof of submission at
Sweepstakes
site is not considered proof of delivery or receipt.
3.. To Enter: Visit: www.hp.com/go/mikerowe/sweepstakesoverlay
("Website")
during the Promotional Period, and follow the online instructions to
complete and submit the online entry form including full name, mailing
address, city, state, ZIP Code, daytime phone, age and email address.
Limit
of one (1) entry per person/email address/household per day. For purposes
of
this Sweepstakes a "day" begins at 12:00:01 a.m. ET and ends at 11:59:59
p.m. ET. Any attempt to submit more than the maximum number of entries
using
multiple/different email addresses, identities or any other methods will
void that participant's entries. Entries generated by a robotic,
programmed,
script, macro or other automated means will void such entries and Sponsor
reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any entrant
using
such methods. No other forms of entry are valid other than those set forth
above. All entry information becomes the property of the Sponsor and will
not be acknowledged or returned, and no correspondence thereafter will be
entered into by Sponsor with entrant. Sponsor reserves the right to verify
all entries.
4.. Drawing: 1 Grand and 3 First Prize Winners will be selected in a
random drawing to be held on or about August 6, 2008, from among all
eligible entries received by an independent judging agency, whose
decisions
are final and binding in all matters relating to this Sweepstakes. Sponsor
will attempt to notify potential winners by expedited delivery and/or
phone
on or about August 12, 2008. Prizes cannot be transferred, redeemed for
cash
or substituted, except by Sponsor who reserves the right to substitute a
prize with a prize of equal or greater value.
5.. Prize/Odds: Grand Prize (1): $10,000 cash (awarded in the form of a
check made payable to the winner), one (1) HP Pavilion tx2000z Series
Notebook Computer, one (1) "Dirty Jobs" DVD box set and miscellaneous
"Dirty
Jobs" apparel and gifts selected at the discretion of the Sponsor.
Approximate Retail Value ("ARV"): $11,200. First Prizes (3): one (1) HP
Pavilion tx2000z Series Notebook Computer, an HP accessories bundle
selected
at the discretion of the Sponsor, one (1) "Dirty Jobs" DVD box set and
miscellaneous "Dirty Jobs" apparel and gifts. ARV: $2,200 each. Total ARV
of
all prizes: $17,800. Any difference between the actual value of any prize
and the ARV will not be awarded. Winner must accept prize as stated, or
prize will be forfeited and may be awarded to an alternate winner. Odds of
winning depend on the number of eligible entries received. All federal,
state and local taxes on and any and all other fees associated with a
prize
are the sole responsibility of the winner. Limit one (1) prize per
person/email address/household.
6.. General Conditions: Participants agree (a) that Sponsor, its
parents,
subsidiaries and affiliated companies, advertising and promotion agencies,
production agencies and web masters/suppliers, and all of their respective
officers, directors, employees, representatives and agents (collectively
"Releasees") are released, will have no liability whatsoever for, and
shall
be held harmless by participants against any liability for any injuries,
losses or damages of any kind to person(s), including death, or property
resulting in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from acceptance,
possession, misuse or use of the prize or participation in this
Sweepstakes
or any Sweepstakes related activities and (b) except where legally
prohibited, winner grants (and agree to confirm in writing) permission to
Sponsor and those acting under its authority the right to the use of
his/her
name, picture, likeness, voice, biographical information and statements,
at
any time, for advertising, trade, publicity and promotional purposes
without
additional compensation, in all media now known or hereafter discovered,
worldwide and on the Internet and World Wide Web, without notice, review
or
approval. Potential prize winners will be required to complete, sign and
return an Affidavit of Eligibility, a Liability Release, and where lawful
a
Publicity Release within ten (10) days of receipt per Sponsor's
directions.
Tennessee residents need not sign Publicity Release. If do***ents are not
returned timely, or if the prize notification or prize is returned as
non-deliverable, or if a winner is found to be ineligible or otherwise not
in compliance with these Official Rules, prize will be forfeited and an
alternate winner selected. All properly claimed prizes will be awarded
provided a sufficient number of entries are received. In no way will more
prizes be awarded than provided for in these Official Rules. Unclaimed
prizes will not be awarded. Prizes will be ****pped to verified winners
within 6 - 8 weeks of confirmation. All Sweepstakes entry information
collected shall be used only in a manner consistent with the consent given
by entrants at the time of entry, with these Official Rules and with HP's
Online Privacy Statement, available at: ww.hp.com/privacy.
7.. Limitations of Liability: Releasees are not responsible for lost,
illegible, late, misdirected, incomplete, mutilated, or non-delivered
entries or email; or for interrupted or unavailable satellite, network,
server, Internet Service Provider (ISP), Website, telephone or other
connections, availability or accessibility, or miscommunications, or
failed
computer, satellite, telephone or cable transmissions, or lines, or
technical failure or jumbled, garbled, corrupted, scrambled, delayed, or
misdirected transmissions, or computer hardware or software or telephone
malfunctions, failures, or technical errors or difficulties, or other
errors
of any kind whether human, mechanical, electronic or network or the
incorrect or inaccurate capture of entry or other information or the
failure
to capture, or loss of, any such information. Releasees are not
responsible
for any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by Website
users, or by any equipment or programming associated with or utilized in
this Sweepstakes; and assume no responsibility for any error, omission,
interruption, deletion, defect or delay in operation or transmission,
communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access
to,
or tampering with or hacking of the Website. Sponsor reserves the right,
at
its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering
with entry process or operation of Sweepstakes or Website, to be acting in
violation of the terms of the Website or to be acting in a
non-s****tsmanlike
or disruptive manner, or with intent to threaten, abuse or harass any
other
person. Sponsor is not responsible for injury or damage to participants'
or
any other person's computer or contents related to or resulting from
participating in this Sweepstakes. If, for any reason, Sweepstakes, in the
sole opinion of Sponsor, is not capable of running as planned by reason of
infection by computer virus, worms, bugs, tampering, hacking, unauthorized
intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes which, in sole
opinion of the Sponsor, corrupt or affect the administration, security,
fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this Sweepstakes, Sponsor
reserves
the right, at its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend
Sweepstakes, and determine winners from eligible entries received prior to
action taken, or as otherwise deemed fair and equitable by Sponsor. Notice
of such action shall be posted online at
www.hp.com/go/mikerowe/sweepstakesoverlay. In case of dispute, authorized
subscriber of e-mail account used to enter at actual time of entry will be
deemed to be the participant, and must comply with these Official Rules.
The
"authorized account subscriber" is deemed to be natural person who is
assigned an e-mail address by an Internet Access Provider, on-line service
provider, or other organization that is responsible for assigning e-mail
addresses.
IN NO EVENT WILL SPONSOR AND ITS RESPECTIVE PARENTS, AFFILIATES,
SUBSIDIARIES AND RELATED COMPANIES, THEIR ADVERTISING OR PROMOTION

governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of State of
California, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law
rules. By entering, participants consent to the jurisdiction and venue of
the federal, state and local courts located in San Mateo County,
California.
Releasees shall not be liable to any winner or any other person for
failure to supply a prize or any part thereof, by reason of any acts of
God;
any action(s), regulation(s), order(s) or request(s) by any governmental
or
quasi-governmental entities (whether or not they prove to be valid);
equipment failure; terrorist acts; earthquake; fire; flood; war;
explosion;
unusually severe weather; hurricane; embargo; labor dispute or strike
(whether legal or illegal); labor or material shortage; trans****tation
interruption of any kind; work slow-down; civil disturbance; insurrection;
riot or any other cause beyond Sponsor's sole control.
