This is not really preventative, however I am not sure if I still have
termites or not from last infestation since 2004. It's more of a making
sure they are all gone type action while I have all the walls and some
floors gutted during the remodeling, and no food, or live plants around to
worry about. I remember my current home was tented in 2002, and the price
of it was small, compared to the work to prep everything, all the food in
the refrigerator, all the medicine, everything edible has to be packed and
moved away, I was just thinking it's much easier for this house to do it
while it's a construction site, since we found so much termite dropping
all
over. I mean I found over 12 locations of concentrated termite droppings,
inside lumber and studs and door headers and roof rafters. I think those
are all drywood termites. I did not see a live one, but these spots are
all
distributed over the entire 4000SF house, so they were everywhere and I
have
only gutted half the house (don't plan to gut it totally).
