I think a good idea to match the intended use and effect on this
would be to use skunk piss....I believe that would work better than the

Of Peppermint and would cover more than rats, but any rodents that "chew
wire" for a living.....all those 3 years of lifetime...
If a killing effect is still needed there's all kinds of methods for
that,.....but a repellent is rare, especially since these guys (rats/mice)
usually come from the sewers where I live anyway...........
