Your post is most amusing, wrong but amusing. If you were to deal with
rodents of any kind on a daily basis you would know that your facts are
way
off the mark.
I have been in sites where the rats actually came out when humans were
present. They would chase a rock if you threw it, much like a dog would
chase a ball. There were dogs tied at 18 feet intervals all around the
house
each with 8.5 foot chains as not to reach each other. The dog piss was
horrible but the rats simply burrowed under the dogs and made their way to
the house and truck. They were living down inside the intake manifold of
the
truck entering through the carburetor and eating the wiring as to render
the
truck useless. A Toyota dealer suggested that the truck be scrapped due to
the damage and danger with the vehicle. The owner bought a new vehicle
only
to have her warranty voided three months afterwards due to the rats
gnawing
on the wiring and shorting out the cars computers.
I have never seen moth balls work for rodents. You must have seen that
episode of Dirty Jobs where Mike Rowe went with Vexcon, or better know as
excon, and they said they were going to put out moth balls to deter s****s
and rodents. They also said you have to be in touch with the moon and
stars
in order to understand Pest Control. What a crock of ****.
Where do you get that Bitrex stinks? It is in many of the products we use
today to keep dogs and cats and other non-target animals from eating it.
It
isn't the bitrex you are smelling it is another ingredient of whatever you
are using. Now if you said you tasted it and it was nasty, that I would
believe.
By placing out bait in bait boxes you are not attracting more rodents you
are killing the ones that happen across them. I never recommend using
cheese
on traps because that is a cartoon myth, rodents don't really even like
cheese. Peanut butter is not good either because it contains oils that
will
aid in the rodent escaping. Use seeds, or even cotton to bait your traps
with. You will be much more successful and its cheaper.
