If it is a brick home, where the top row of brick meets the wood trim
there is probably a gap the whole perimeter of the house. If it is a
wood siding home, there could be countless areas around the structure in
need of caulking. Once they get into the dark environment of the attic,
every light fixture and fans attached to the ceiling, especially canned
lighting lets small amounts of light into the attic, enough to attract
them where they then find their way inside the structure.
