Solid as SEARS - NOT!

by Phil <ptusa@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Apr 22, 2008 at 07:09 PM

Greetings to all ....

Just wanted to share - about my latest experience with SEARS.

The wife and I purchased a $1100.00 dishwasher from Sears in Feb,
2008. 60 days later -- it broke. Since I purchased the "master
protection" agreement, I called Sears Service. I then scheduled an
repair appointment.

Took one work day off to be told the replacement parts would be here
in TEN (10) working days. Now don't get me wrong, the repair
technician was very professional, apologetic and friendly, however ...

I was so ticked to hear I was going to be without a dishwasher for 2
weeks waiting on parts!

After the service appointment, I realized that the unit was still
under the manufacturer's warranty. So, I drove over to Sears here in
Houston where the unit was purchased and after literally 2 hours on
the damn phone being passed off from one customer service moron
after another, I finally got someone with some brains to realize that
the unit was under 90 day manufacturer's warranty! This person took
another 15 minutes to get what ever he was doing to give me an
exchange date for the exact type unit.

I was assured TWICE that the exchange date was a FIRM date. That date
came and I took ANOTHER day off from work and no one bother to show
up! No calls - no nothing!

I called Sears customer service around 2 PM. They informed me they
use a third party contractor for their installations. Sears customer
service also informed me that they could not guarantee the
installation date would be the same date deliverly and installation
because of using this third-party contractor! What a crock of BS!

Ever heard of an electronic database to keep track of your dates and
inventory?????????????

It was about this time, I got a call from THE third-party contractor
stating they would be by tomarrow NOT today as promised to swap
out the broken unit for a replacement unit! GET THIS - he also
informed me that "I don't have that model in our wharehouse ..."

So I then asked myself this question ... How the HELL are you going
to deliver what you don't have in your wharehouse the following
business day? HOW?

After a few seconds, I informed him to deliver the dishwasher at 8 AM
the next morning. At this point I have no hopes nor have ANY
confidence that the third-party contractor will show up much less call
me with the replacement dishwasher!

So far this calamity has cost me three (3) working days - and
counting! Much less the wife and I have been without a dishwasher
for 13 days - AND COUNTING.

Please, save your sanity by NOT EVER DOING BUSINESS with Sears! This
is the worst customer service I have ever seen! SEARS TRUELY SUCKS!

Than you for allowing me to share this lovely experience with the
group.
