Very Strange credit Card Call

Hi,

MY very close friends told me this story and asked if I could find
anything 
out on the net.

They are very honest people and I believe what they told me:

-They got a call from their credit card company - Visa. They were told
that 
they had driven 4001 miles over the last 2 months.
-They were asked if they wanted some additional coverage on some thing.
-They were shocked to know that the mileage was correct to the mile.
- They said that the car dealer for their 2000 Lincoln Mercury knows where

their car is when they call in for tow.

Is there any connection between Lincoln Mercury  and Visa?
I have do idea how Visa knew the mileage. I wish they would have asked 
before hanging up.

Any ideas? I am completely stumped.
