British Revolting Over Plane Noise!!!
---------------------------------------------------------------------
As Bill Sees It (Editorial): Creative, British Anti-Air****t Expansion
Activists Get Media Attention!!! I fully sup****t he "illegal"
demonstrations by British activists this week against Heathrow Air****t
expansion and its effects on the climate. Although I would rather see a
creative, legal demonstration that publicizes aviation pollution, the
media
seems to pay more attention to when people are willing to break the law to
make their point. If demonstrators did such a thing in the U.S. you would
quickly see the FBI and other federal agencies involved with this
"terrorist" act interfering with the mythical "national air trans****tation
system." Of course the real terrorists is the airline industry (which
includes the unions) and their paid political partners-in-crime who think
nothing of have planes flying low over densely populated areas at 3AM in
the
morning. You can be sure that these same Aviation Cabal entities will do
everything in their power to suppress the recent British studies that have
shown an immediate, direct link with aircraft noise and high blood
pressure
and all health impacts that are associated with it.
Some Politicians "Starting" To Expose Lack Of Health Impacts In Airspace
Redesign Plan!!! More and more I'm starting to notice the issue of health
impacts being mentioned by politicians who are representing their
communities in the fight against air****t expansion. Increasing blood
pressure, heart disease, strokes from the increase noise that comes with
air****t expansion and is the most powerful argument that communities can
make. It is also a good basis for legal suits as the government does not
address these issues in their environmental impacts. Unfortunately,
instead
of focusing on health issues most politicians are spending their time
worrying about things like attacking individuals in the FAA. This seems to
me to be a diversionary tactic designed to win the approval of voters
while
doing nothing to stop the FAA expansion plans. Why aren't these
politicians
bringing legal suits based on the health impacts aviation noise and air
pollution will bring to their constituents? I just don't understand it
unless these politicians are really in bed with the Aviation Cabal (FAA,
airlines and unions), which wouldn't surprise me in the least.

England: Activists Break The Law To Fight Aviation Polluters!!! Four
activists from environmental campaigners Greenpeace breached security at
London Heathrow to stage a protest on top of a jet against the air****t's
planned expansion, the group said Monday. The activists climbed on top of
a
British Airways Boeing 777 plane which had just landed from Manchester at
around 0945 GMT and unfurled a huge banner across the tailfin reading:
"Climate Emergency -- No Third Runway". Their action came two days before
the end of a government consultation on plans to expand Heathrow, notably
by
building a third runway, which have proved highly controversial with green
campaigners and some local people. Sup****ters of the scheme including
airlines and business argue that it is vital to sustain London's status as
a
world financial centre. One of those involved in the protest, Anna Jones,
27, said: "I am standing on this plane because our planet and the people
who
live on it are in danger. "Climate change can be beaten but not by
doubling
the size of the world's biggest air****t." The demonstrators were arrested
by
police after spending about an hour and a half on top of the jet. Services
at Heathrow were largely unaffected. BAA, which operates most of Britain's
air****ts, said it would carry out a "full investigation" into the
incident.
A spokesman said: "There is an im****tant debate to be had regarding
air****t
expansion and BAA respects people's democratic right to protest lawfully.
"However, direct action on the airfield is unlawful and irresponsible."
Willie Walsh, chief executive of British Airways and a sup****ter of the
expansion plan, said that aviation only produced about two percent of
carbon
emissions. And he added that a third runway would not lead overall to an
increase because by then, aviation emissions would be capped by the
European
Union's carbon trading scheme.

New York/New Jersey Air****t "Authority" Fines Acceptable Pollution From
Teterboro Air****t!!! Fumes from taxiing jets are responsible for air
pollution, but a study released last month revealed that the air quality
around busy Teterboro Air****t isn't much worse than it is throughout
Bergen
County's other urban neighborhoods. Paid for by the ****t Authority of New
York and New Jersey and the New Jersey Meadowlands Commission, the study,
which was made public during a special meeting at Becton Regional High
School in East Rutherford, stated that certain health risks were elevated
near the air****t. U.S. Representative Steve Rothman (picture on right),
who
has championed of quality of life issues around Teterboro, released a
statement in response to the study results. "Some may argue that the air
quality results in this study seem are on par with that of other air****ts,
suggesting they are acceptable. However, that view misses the point:
Teterboro Air****t was never intended to serve as a major hub." he said.
"Teterboro is a reliever air****t, located right in the middle of a
neighborhood. Residents live just a few hundred yards from the runways
where
the sensors for this study were placed. Teterboro air traffic, and the
resulting noise and air pollution, are clear impediments to the quality of
life for Teterboro area residents. This study does not answer all of the
questions I have posed, nor does it address all the concerns of residents.
But it is proof that continued work is needed to decrease the number and
size of aircraft operating at Teterboro Air****t." The size and number of
jets that use the air****t is trouble to many residents, including Wehrle.
"The arrival and departure routes for aircraft from Teterboro are very
close
to Hackensack University Medical Center well as the high-rises on Prospect
Avenue. This is an accident waiting to happen," Wehrle told Hackensack
Chronicle, adding that the coalition and the ****t Authority have pleaded
with the Federal Aviation Administration to change flight patterns. "These
requests fall on deaf ears." http://hackensackchronicle.com/NC/0/104.html
Editor's Note: I would like to see a study that wasn't paid for by the
****t
Authority. Also, how about a blood pressure study after recent studies
have
shown a IMMEDIATE increase in blood pressure with noise pollution.
Congressmen Criticize FAA Spokesman's Comment!!! Ridley Park - U.S. Reps.
Joe Sestak (D-Pa.) and Rob Andrews (D-N.J.) issued a stinging rejoinder
yesterday to statements made by a regional Federal Aviation Administration
(FAA) spokesman on the new airspace redesign. In response to objections to
the flight plans implemented Dec. 19 that the National Air Traffic
Controllers Association (NATCA) raised on safety grounds, FAA spokesman
Jim
Peters re****tedly asserted that those unhappy with the new procedures need
not continue working in air traffic control. "If any controller at the
Philadelphia Air****t believes that these procedures are unsafe, they
should
look for work elsewhere," he is quoted as saying to the Delaware County
Daily Times last week. "If they don't like working for FAA, they should
reconsider their line of work." At issue is whether it is safe to assign
certain headings (i.e., directional coordinates) to airline pilots before
takeoff only to inform the pilots that those headings have been revised
after they're in flight, as now occurs under the airspace redesign. The
air
traffic controllers' labor representatives maintain such a procedure can
confuse pilots and endanger safety. "I am outraged about what I've seen
the
FAA say about these controllers," Mr. Andrews said at Ridley Park Borough
Hall. "If you blow the whistle because you've seen something wrong in the
workplace ... you should be rewarded, not punished."
