"Open Skies Agreement Axed!!!
---------------------------------------------------------------------
As Bill Sees It: (Editorial) The U.S. Axes The "Open Skies" Agreement With
The European Union!!! It looks as if the "Open Skies" agreement between
the
U.S. and the European Union is dead...for now. It was killed by a odd
coalition of union members, airlines and the incoming Demoncrat congress,
not environmentalists who looked upon this as another scheme to increase
the
number of plane over our heads. I'm surprised that our wonderful president
didn't "stay the course" and try to go ahead with it anyway. No doubt some
of his advisors got through to him and told him that he would never get
the
selling of America's airlines through congress (to bad they didn't have
the
same luck with the Iraq War). But have no fear, I'll be willing to bet
that
once the cor****ate criminals that run America start waving big bucks at
the
Demoncrat-controlled congress next year they'll be another effort to push
the Open Skies scheme through. Maybe President Moronic Polluter and some
democrat pals will join in a open skies agreement coalition like they did
with the "amnesty for illegal aliens scheme," which so many Americans
failed
to be fooled by.
FAA's Airspace Redesign Plan Attacked By Activists: I received an email
(see
below) from Robert Belzer president of NYCANN this week with pictures
(see
map on right) and website addresses from the FAA's hideous Airspace
Redesign
Plan for NY/NJ and Pennsylvannia. I wrote back and told Bob that I think
it's outrageous that the EPA lets the FAA get away with these kinds of
flight pattern maps that don't even clearly show landforms, much less
noise
impacts. This kind of deliberate, technical obfuscation of aviation
impacts
on the public, war are supposed make judgments from this information, is
typical for this criminal agency. The EPA should have thrown the Airspace
Redesign Plan back in the FAA's face and demanded it be redone. The fact
that they didn't shows that they are just as corrupt as the FAA.
Christmas Tree Ban At Sea-Tac Air****t!!! SEA-TAC Air****t - All of the
Christmas trees inside the terminal at Sea-Tac have been removed in
response
to a complaint by a rabbi. A local rabbi wanted to install an 8-foot
menorah
and have a public lighting ceremony. He threatened to sue if the menorah
wasn't put up, and gave a two-day deadline to remove the trees. Sea-Tac
public affairs manager Terri-Ann Betancourt said the trees that adorn the
Sea-Tac upper and lower levels may not properly represent all cultures.
She
said that since this is their busiest time of year and they don't have
time
to add a fair representation of all cultures, her department decided to
take
down all of the decorations, review their policies, and decide if they
need
to make a change for next year. Editor's Note: Somebody should tell these
people that Christmas is a NATIONAL holiday and does represent "all"
cultures; at least the ones that allow freedom of speech and religion. I'm
glad to see that there is a backlash and hope it is only the beginning.

US-Europe 'Open Skies' Talks Collapse!!! BRUSSELS, Dec. 6 EU leaders
expressed regret that the White House, facing opposition in the U.S.
Congress, has given up efforts to open trans-Atlantic flights to
competition. U.S. rules limit foreign investment in its airlines to 25
percent of the voting stock, constraining the ability of European airlines
to participate in managing those airlines in which they invest. The
European
Union has a more liberal policy, allowing foreigners to own 49 percent of
European carriers. The Bush administration, which has been pu****ng easing
U.S. limits on foreign airline owner****p, said Tuesday it was abandoning a
proposed law to accomplish such an end. Mary Peters, U.S. Trans****tation
Department secretary, said the move followed the Democrats' success in
last
month's congressional races. That prompted Jacques Barrot, EU trans****t
commissioner, to express disappointment and regret at the move.

Aviation News Stories This Week
Bill, the only way to really tell what is going on is by analyzing the
noise
pollution impact tables. I have attached the table for Nassau County to
this email. The attached table illustrates the noise impacts to Nassau
County from the new westbound Kennedy departures. You have to hire an
aviaiton industry consultant to decipher this stuff.

Decibel Change Converted to %
=========== =================
0.2 5%
0.4 10%
0.6 15%
0.8 20%
1.0 26%
3.0 100%
5.0 216%
10.0 900%
Note to do this conversion.
1. Divide decibel change by 10. [.8 decibel => .08] call the result "x"
2. On a scientific calculator, look up 10 to the x power.
3. That is the fractional noise increase. To convert to %, subtract 1 and
multiply by 100
