We were in Blowing Rock NC on Monday and Tuesday before driving
through eastern Tennessee to return to our mountain house in northern
Georgia yesterday. We had a summer house in Blowing Rock from 98 to
2006 when we took our profit it on it and down sized to a smaller
cabin like summer place in the mountains of northern Georgia. Blowing
Rock is 90 miles from Charlotte and at an elevation of 4000 feet and
cool nites are not uncommon in summer but Monday when I went out of
the hotel to get coffee at 6:00am I froze my buns in my bermuda shorts
and short sleeve ****rt. We had to go to a tourist shop
and buy sweat ****rts and sales of them were booming.
Will global cooling be the next hoax advanced by left wing whacko
alarmists?

morning was downright cool in the Charlotte region -- cool enough
to break a record that had stood for more than a century.
The temperature at Charlotte/Douglas International Air****t was 56 at
about 5:30 a.m., breaking the July 2 record of 58, set in 1885. The
normal low for this time of year is 70.
